Like a Boss... Oh no you didn't. Oh yes I did.

So my day started out on a great note : *ahem. Not.
My entire pot of french press coffee- Kicking Horse Coffee -454 Horsepower to be exact- landed oh so delicately all over my living room floor.

What did I do? I cleaned'er up, I made a new pot, and I am seizing the day like a BOSS. Nothing is going to stop this little bee from creating and making beautiful things.

So I whipped up this little ditty for you. Cause it's how I'm rocking my Wednesday!

Today Was Good! Today Was Fun! Thank Goodness Tomorrow Is Another ONE!

Today was good, today was FUN! Tomorrow is another one! YAY! Remember when you use to hate going to bed, because it meant the day was over. Well here you go, remind yourself, tomorrow is another one! A new beginning! Dr. Seuss Rocked.

Oh and if you love your job, this would be super cute sitting on your desk :) Or if you're not that keen on your job- print it off for your kids or coworker!

Love Is In The Air...and it smells like COFFEE!

Love is in the air and it smells like coffee :)

Floating around in the air up here in the Great White North is the delicious smell of smoke coming from all of my neighbours chimneys (I really want a fireplace!), that brisk wind that only means snow is on its way... and of course beautifully coloured leaves are floating down from all of the trees...

It's that time of year when you bundle up and get ready to hibernate... fall is here, winter isn't too far behind.

But for today, I will take the wonderful warm fuzzy feelings of love that I get when I smell coffee in the air...

10 Years?! A Decade in the Making.

LostBumblebee is 10. That means I've been doing graphics for 10 years. It actually started a lot earlier than that. I  started doing logo design for my dad when I was just a little girl. I use to draw out a design and he would take it to the printer and they would re-create my work for his business cards. It always made me feel so proud that he would used my work. gulp.

So for the 10 year celebration of LostBumblebee,  I thought I would share an info-graphic detailing a little bit about my life as a designer and my life as my life (it has been a wild ride). Also in celebration, I just ordered myself some new business cards  I can't wait to get them. Oh ya, we party hard here!

• Prior to 2003 I did lots of cool stuff like:
• Lived coast to coast with my family
• Took French Immersion
• 1996 Sold my first painting
• Won a Leadership award (so cool)
• Started University at Cape Breton University
• 1998 Moved again. New community, new people, new school
• 2000 Graduated from Acadia (proved all those elementary teachers who thought I was going to end up in juvenile detention wrong- booya!) 
• Graduated with a Fine Arts degree in studio art- yup that's painting.
• 2000 packed my bags and moved all by myself to Calgary. I was in love with an Asian Cowboy. ok so he wasn't a cowboy ;)
• 2001 Married that Guy who had stolen my heart and inspired my BIG MOVE to Calgary. Duy (Zwee) Best thing that happened to me ever. period. (you can follow his life journey at IAMDUY )
• We went on a Mission Trip to Romania (our honey moon- I seriously DO NOT suggest you do this) 
• 2001 Started my Education Degree at The University of Calgary
• Graduated 2003 and started LostBumblebee (and so the above story begins)
• Met lots of incredible people, who all played a huge part in making me who I am today.
• I made lots of mistakes. (one of which was thinking the world revolved around me- apparently I was sadly mistaken)
• and so much more.
• But seriously, this isn't about me :) 

Please accept my BIG BIG thank you. Thank you for all of the love and thank you for all of the encouragement. Thank you for being part of my journey! I truly appreciate each one of you :)

Give the World the Best You Have, ANYWAY.

I sent out a message on Facebook the other day asking for ideas / quotes / poetry that you'd like to see in print. Lindsay of  Lindsay's Kitchen Workshop sent in her favourite poem, "The Paradoxical Commandments" by Dr. Kent M. Keith.

I had never heard this poem before, but I am officially in love. This is how I want to live my life.  In essence, isn't this how the greatest revolutionary of all times -Jesus, lived His life? I want to be like Him.  I want to live in the- Do it anyway place. What about you?

I couldn't keep it to myself, had to share it! If you haven't read this poem, take a moment to read it, it has the power to change your life! So spread some joy and encourage someone today! Come on, you know you want too :)
