The Mug Life.

I didn't choose the Mug Life, the Mug Life chose me. It's funny, because I am trying to think when I started to drink coffee... like really drink coffee. Black, no cream, no sugar, just the sweet darkness of the mojo juice.  I think it all started with a beautiful couple named Ken and Irma... they were the catalyst to a lot of amazing stuff for the Hubby and I.

So this one is for all of the beautiful people in your life, who encourage you, point you in the right direction, help you along the way, and teach you to drink your coffee black. Because any coffee is drinkable if you add enough cream and sugar :)   But it takes good coffee to drink it black-

POT Of GOLD!

It. Is. Friday! We've made it through another week... seriously my weeks tend to run together because I work from home and the hubby works on Saturdays, so I usually have no idea what day it is. But today is FRIDAY that I do know, because it's floating all over Facebook- Friday or not, what I do know is that it is a great day to share a bucket load of Irish Awesomeness in preparation for Saint-Patrick's Day (March 17)! He's the Patron Saint of Ireland, but on St. Paddy's day everybody is Irish!

Blame it all on my Roots.

You know how sometimes, just sometimes,  you feel totally out of place in life? Well, whenever I do something less than stellar, I like to blame it all on my roots... 

So this one is for all of us, who grew up the down home way, simple-  One fork on the dinner table kind of people. Yup, that's me and that's ok. We are good people. Hardworking people. Salt of the earth people. Kind people. Helpful people. Heart people. 

Don't know which fork to use at a fancy dinner because there are 3 (!) of them on the table... just start humming... "blame it all on my roots, I showed up in boots, and ruined your black tie affair..."

Enjoy this and share it with someone you know would love it!

Peace, Love, Joy & Merry Everything!

Yup it's that time to celebrate, love, joy, peace... hopefully those are values we celebrate all year-every year!

This morning, the coffee is on, Christmas lights are on, I am enjoying the peacefulness this morning...    (I interrupt this blog post for a conversation with the hubby) Well it was peaceful, isn't it crazy how a little spat can change the course of a day?

But I'm choosing to refocus-  I've got too much do be thankful for, I've got too much to do, and there is just too much goodness around me!

When you choose to focus on positivity, hope, gratitude and love, you will always be met road bumps - that is natural, but what isn't always natural, is making the choice to refocus on positivity. It is easier to wallow in pity, frustration, anger and well... basically pout. But you know what-  You've always got a choice. You choose what you focus on!

So today, I will refocus, again, and again, and again- and it will be hard, but it will be worth it!

So here's to Focusing and Refocusing on the important things in life; love, joy, peace, gratitude, hope, and everything else that is positive and refreshing and beautiful!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Right?! :)

Christmas! Yay! It's coming faster than ever, and I feel like I am missing it... and it hasn't even started!

So today, I am going to focus on the wonder of the miracle of Christmas, I am going to focus my heart and my gratitude on this wonderful time of year, the amazing people in my life, and tracking it all creatively :)

Is there really anything else I can do? What are your plans for this holiday season? how will you make sure it doesn't pass you by? Any ideas, suggestions, thoughts? Please share, I'd love to hear them!

Frankly Darling...

I don't give a hoot.
Whoo me?
Nope I never feel like this.
Ever. I always care.

Ok, I'm lying- sometimes I just don't give a hoot. I've been doing a lot of soul searching lately... I often worry about things that aren't any of my business, my concern, or anything I need to even be thinking of.  Do you find yourself tangled up in this web of 'false responsibility' because it makes you feel valuable or worthy?

I've taken to reminding myself often "not my circus, not my monkeys" sometimes I have to say "not my circus, yes my monkeys" and still have to let it play out as it will.

I can't control everything, cause If I could, let me tell you... lol no, seriously- sometimes we just have to stop, let it go, and not give a hoot how it turns out for our own sanity! Sometimes we women tend to try to fix everything, for our spouses, our children, our friend's children, our parents - and the list goes on! But you know what... you don't have to fix the neighbourhood... you just have to live in it :)

I mean of course apathy sucks! That we take no part in- for causes that we need to stand for, we stand! For changes that we can make, we make! To fight the good fight, we fight! - I'm not talking about this sort of thing, I'm talking about the little stuff that we burden ourselves with, the stuff that tires us out so that when we do need to fight, apathy is just an easier choice.

What are you concerned about today that you need to let go of? What responsibilities are you carrying that really aren't yours to carry, but because you are such a good person, you took it over?
What do you need to say "Frankly darling, I don't give a hoot" about today?

Let it go... breathe... the world didn't fall apart- nope it's not easy, it sucks to not be in control all the time, but on the other hand, the freedom that it brings is marvellous!
