We are supporting Edrisa a 3 year old little boy in Uganda that we got to meet when we were there in the fall. We are starting to get ready to prepare to go back- so make sure you donate before you download. Your donation is saving a life.  

There are very few people in the world that will ever compare to moms... My mom is my best friend, I talk to her almost every day, and sometimes twice a day. She's the one I call when I need to know;

Does this look infected?
How do I cook rice?
What can I use for a coffee filter?
Do I have to add milk?
How much chocolate is too much chocolate?
How many bananas can a person eat a day?
What goes good with olives, garlic, macaroni? no seriously, that's all I've got in the house.
Well how often should I grocery shop?

Yup my mom, and when things aren't going right, I call her, when I'm feeling emotional, I call mom, when I have to make a decision, I call mom, when I need extra support, I call mom... and Mom always say... Let's pray Miss... I want to pray with you... and that changes everything no matter what's going on, my mom knows just what's needed and when it's needed... and I thank God every day for my Mom.

She's a rock, She an inspiration, and I appreciate her so much. I'm so grateful for my mom, every day.

So these I created for you to share with you Mom... I pray that your mom is as much a corner stone and a strength in your life as my mom is in mine.

One day at a time.

When you are planning a crazy move, half way around the world, you have to take one day at a time... you can't look at the big picture because it is overwhelming and crippling. It's one day at a time, and sometimes one hour at a time, and one moment at a time. When life gives you a big'ol project that seems overwhelming when you look at it, break it down into baby steps.

My favourite way of explaining this to people, is by asking this question:

How do you eat an elephant? ... one bite at a time baby, one bite at a time.

So how am I living this amazing life? One bite at a time baby, one bite at a time.

Happy Hump Day! It's Wednesday December 16th here in Quebec Canada, and we have no snow. I am not sure how I feel about that... no snow for Christmas? I'm not liking that idea. I know a lot of places don't have snow for the holidays, but Quebec - Canada, we have snow, and lots of it. This year... green.... grrrr....

Hope...

"Hope deferred makes the heart grow sick",  I am very aware of this verse and very aware of how repeating it to yourself can actually make you sick. My very wise Mama always reminds me to finish off the rest of this verse... "But desire fulfilled is a tree of life" (Prov. 13:12)- 
A TREE OF LIFE!

LIFE.

It's like Christmas... Christmas is a time of hope, not because of what is coming, but because of what has already come.

I wanted to share this print with you, because in my life, holding onto hope is important... I've written about hope before, I've shared my hopeless feelings, and my feelings of hope... and how sometimes I white knuckling hope, grasping on pathetically... or heroically- my view changes depending on the day.

But if you are in the midst of hoping for something, waiting for something, don't give up hope... hold on (this is a reminder to myself as well) hold on ...because when that desire is fulfilled it is a tree of life.

All is Calm...

... all is bright...  Ah those nice calm days before the storm of the Christmas holidays really starts brewing... I'm sitting here head whirling around trying to figure out if I've forgotten anything... it's only the 10th, so I have not yet taken on the "well if I have, it's too late now" attitude... there is still time...  But I don't want to get caught up in the crazy, I don't want to get all worried. My goal is to remain calm, remember the reason for the season, share love and laughter and not freak out- but, in the spirit of honesty, I may have already freaked out... more than once... but I digress...

Do you freak out during the holidays? Some people choose wine, I've been known to do that a time or two... some people hide, some people over spend ( I may have done that once or twice too), some people ... I don't know... fill in the blank, how do you deal with the holidays? How do you stay calm?

Meet Edrisa!

Remember I had mentioned I was working on a little something something?... Well I was... and here goes... We (You + Me) are sponsoring a little Boy! The LostBumblebee Blog Community has been so generous with their support of our Living Life On Purpose 2015 goal, I wanted to give you the opportunity to continue living your life on purpose.

This Blog was originally created as a place of healing for me, and that is exactly what it has been. You know our struggles with fertility, you know my heart, you know me, you know our goal this entire year has been to live our lives on purpose. Live outside of ourselves, beyond our borders, to give, to love, to heal... And you are part of that journey. And now I want to introduce you to a little someone...

His name is Edrisa.
He was born in May 2013.
His mom left to get doughnuts and never came back.
He was severely anemic when found.
He was almost dead.
He was rescued.
He needed blood.
He healed.
He is hilarious.
He is a ham.
He is kind.
He has a sister.
He is no longer alone.
We are his new family.
We will support him.
We are living our lives on purpose.

From now on, all of our $1 Donate to download will be going toward supporting him, and eventually I would like to be able to support more than just Edrisa. I want our Blog Community to be about giving, Living Life on Purpose and living it out loud. Sharing our love with those around us, and giving beyond ourselves. Together we will make a difference. Can we change the world? maybe not, but we can change Edrisa's world.

I met Edrisa early in October, he would stand at my feet and swirl in my skirt. Finally one day he just held his arms up and basically said, 'lady you need to pick me up'. And every since that first day of picking him up, every time I was at the Baby Home, Edrisa was in my arms, he would search me out, find me, arms up, 'UP!'. He healed a place in my heart that was hurt and not open, he made a bigger difference in my life, than I ever could in his.

I've left a huge part of my heart in Uganda. Being home has been hard, not because I am unhappy, but because I miss my new Ugandan family. Because the needs I saw there are so vast and hard to even comprehend- let alone share with others...  All I can do is pray, share love, try and share my story, and live my life on purpose...

Join me in living life on purpose and changing one little boy's world.

366,028,800 seconds since we started our Living Life On Purpose 2015 Uganda Journey, and we're not finished yet. We have 50 Days left to go.

But today is our Fundraiser here,  we are raising funds specifically for a Diesel Generator and a Water Pump for the Orphanage we will be working in for 5 weeks this fall. It's a Big Goal $2000- But I know we can do.

All donations made today go directly to the Diesel Generator + Pump.

Dreams don't work unless you do. We have been hustling for 417 days, we've got 50 to go, we are full steam ahead- today we've got a goal. $2000. Today. $2000. It's Crazy. It's Insane, but WE CAN DO THIS. Not just me + Duy, but YOU, me +Duy.

It's Monday! Love.

It's Monday, and there is one thing I know for sure...
"...these three remain: faith, hope and love... and the greatest of these is love." 1 Cor. 13:13

You know when you have a day, (like we had yesterday) where you're just petty... squabbling about things like the mortgages, who made what decision, and how it is affecting our lives, who makes all these decisions? Why are we taking this/them into account? Who's in charge anyway?

You know days like that... when you have stuff you need to discuss and it spirals so quickly downward into a petty shamble of human-ess? Yes, I too am human, and yes, it shows- more times than not.

After all of our pettiness and our making up and our back on track, we heard news of a friend of ours who was in an accident and has 2nd degree burns, his arms, his upper body, and his face... but thankfully survived.  That kinda puts things into perspective in this world we live in. Who cares about the mortgage, who cares who made what decisions, who cares? What is important is that you are here...  What is important is that we spend out time living and loving each other, and others. My heart is breaking for our friends, their lives are forever changed. They will live with this forever, they will live another level of love... we will live another level of love because of them.

Teach us to love, to truly love. To put love above all else, people above all else, other's above all else. The most important thing we have in the world is each other- how easily we forget that...
My prayer today is that love abounds in your heart, your home, with everyone you meet, and spills out everywhere you go.

I'm Possible.

Nothing is impossible- even the word itself says I'm Possible. This has been running through my head and heart for the last 5 days. Nothing, not one thing, no thing is impossible. That makes my heart sing! That means all things are possible. All things. Everything you can think of, all things you can imagine are possible. I love what Mark 9:23 (NIV- emphases added) says;

"What do you mean, 'If I can' ?" Jesus asked. "Anything is possible if a person believes."

Anything is possible if you believe. That just gives me the kick in the butt I need today! (ALL THINGS MISS, all things! Everything- you know that $2000 goal you set to buy the orphanage a diesel generator and a pump- well it IS possible if you believe.)

About 2 weeks ago, I really felt I needed to contact the orphanage that we will be going to volunteer in and ask them -what big ticket items they need. They need a new truck. That is a pretty big ticket item- but they also mentioned a diesel generator and a pump- which will cost about $2000- I said Yes, we can do that. I wonder if I had stopped and read this verse before I jumped on the generator + pump, if I would have had enough faith, enough courage to say yes for the truck?

We are starting with raising the $2000 for the pump.
Maybe just maybe if I keep believing by the time we get there we will have raised enough for the generator+pump as well as the truck! Hey, All things are possible. Jesus said it himself. Right?

Happy Saturday!

It's Saturday- what an awesome day, it's as though the whole world looks at life a little differently on a Saturday than any other day of the week. It's full of endless possibilities, wide open mental spaces and sheer joy. I love Saturdays. Even though my Hubby and I both work on Saturdays, there is something so inborn in me that I still love them.

When I was growing up, Saturdays were the only 'free' day. Sunday was church, Monday -Friday was school, and every second week on Saturday evenings we had church services with the elderly at the seniors home. We may or may not have races those people to the service taking corners on two wheels in their wheel chairs... they would just laugh and giggle the whole time. Who in their right mind puts eight 12 year olds in charge of going and getting the participants in wheelchairs? Apparently our parents trusted us. side note: In our free time, we would wander around the basement looking for the morgue-morbid, I know. 

But Saturdays... I still love them, I still hold them in a special place in my heart, they are the free day of the week! It's as though they are the day that I can finally cast my cares away, and truly relax... but 1 Peter says that we should be casting our cares away every day, "Cast all of your cares on Him; He cares for you." All of your cares, that includes your Monday woes, your Tuesday cares, your Wednesday stress, your Thursday frustrations and your Friday anxiety - knowing that you start this all over again on Monday.  Cast ALL of your cares on Him. He Cares for you.  This is a reminder that I recite to myself daily, I am living and growing and casting my cares daily, sometimes every moment I am saying this over and over... and then laying down my worries, placing my anxieties, my hurts, my frustrations on Him... because He truly cares for me. 


If something has you down, cast your cares on Him... He truly cares for you.
You are his favourite.
