Rainy Days.

Rainy Days are good for the soul... hmmm, we are full on in the middle of rainy season here in Vietnam, and it's kind of awesome, and kinda crazy, flash floods, mud, being utterly soaked to the bone. I am not complaining I have a nice dry apartment, but what I've been noticing is there are people who do not have dry places to live... whose feet have been wet for the past 2 months. People who wade through puddles day in and day out. My neighbour, the security guard in the field across from our apartment, is one of those people. I see him out wading in knee deep puddles to feed his ducks, to clean his clothes, to get from his cooking tent to his sleeping tent- He amazes me. I am amazed at the people here...

So rainy days are good for the soul because they remind us that without rain -there are no rainbows, they remind us that rain brings life, that water is life,  because they are cleansing to both the body and the soul. Plus, rainy days are the perfect day to curl up with a good book and a cup of coffee, which I will be doing shortly.

Cheers to rainy days,  looking around and seeing others... and be grateful in our own lives.

Rain.

I'm away from home on the other side of Canada in beautiful British Columbia, and it is incredible. There are flowers blooming and the temperature is well above freezing... it's a very different world than my Narnia like back yard at home. Who knew such a place existed North of the wall, up here in Canada.

One thing I will say though, is it takes rain to keep this place green and lush... and rain we have had. But I love the rain, it clears the head, cleanses the soul and makes everything smell lush. As a tribute to the rain.

As a tribute to the rain...

Life isn't about waiting for the storms to pass... (everyday life brings complications, frustrations and difficult decisions and situations) it's about learning to dance in the rain (having a heart of gratitude, looking beyond the present situation at the big picture, stop looking in, start looking out)

I am daily learning to dance in the rain of my own life... there are so many people, along the way, who have helped me look beyond the current situations of my own life, believed in me, challenged me, and encouraged me, and are dancing in the rain right along with me...  Surround yourself with those people.... and Learn to dance in the rain!

For Coffee Lovers + Cat Lovers Alike

It's raining here and all I can think of is that today would be awesome if could just sit/lay/snuggle/curl up, drink coffee and read a good book all day. But alas that will not happen. Once this post is up, I will be off and running.

I myself am deathly allergic to cats, but those soft furry felines always make me want to cuddle up on a day like today, so this one is for coffee lovers and cat lovers!
