Home Sweet Home.

Edrisa and I <3  our little frowny boy is growing up and look at that smile <3 This is the little guy that we support, if we could we would double, triple, quadruple that support and send as much as possible to this baby home. I cannot stress how these lives are being changed because of your generosity when you donate to download, and because of Momma Fay and her dedication to these children.
Home Sweet home, I don't know if I promised I'd blog or not on our recent trip to visit Edrisa and the baby home... either way, I did not. I was too busy painting, playing, chatting, living. What an awesome experience to revisit the children and just love on them. Here are some updated photos of our boy,  Edrisa, and his brother's and sisters at the baby home... not too many are babies anymore.

Momma Fay is raising up the next generation, and let me tell you- I only know I am getting older because these kids are getting older... surreal. I get how a parent keeps track of time- because with no kids, me and the hubby are still 23 and 27 forever <3

While we were there my Mom and I painted decorations for the new baby home, taught in the classroom, loved on the kids, painting with the children, did activities with the kids after school, and just loved on them and enjoyed them. What an experience to share with my mom.

I got just about enough hugs to hold me over until next time... which is going to be in the near future. Last time it took 5 years to return, this time I am hoping and praying it will take way less. Planning for our future trip back is something I've already started!

We painted their personal boxes,
so they would have a save place to keep their treasure.
Each older child has 2 or 3 littles that they will share their box with. These children understand the importance of sharing, and caring for other. It blesses my heart to see the generosity of children who do not have everything, yet willing to give so much.

after church on Sunday we all piled into 1 vehicle and went for sodas- yes 1 vehicle, you count :)

Everyone loves a Stoney <3 a Strong Ginger soda.- so good.
If you would like to donate to this baby home, you can do so through our blog,  Donate button or you can visit www.toafricawithlove.org and choose to donate monthly, or even a days worth of milk for the kids. You will be surprised at how far a "dinner out" will go when changing these lives.  It costs about 130$ a month for each child-  that might be a little steep for your budget, and I get that, but you can choose a smaller amount to donate, and working together we can achieve our goal of fully supporting Edrisa, and ultimate every child in this home.

I am so grateful that we had this opportunity to visit and serve in anyway we could... I cannot wait to return- more painting is on the agenda- the walls will be plastered soon, and they will need huge colourful murals- I'm starting to plan that trip already!

I hope you know how much I appreciate all of you who donate to download, and those who give to help support Edrisa, and his brother's and sisters...

M.

Sharing :)

As you know, our little group here on LostBumblebee Blog has a sponsored child in Uganda, named Edrisa. He is adorable, and has the cutest grumpy face! As you also know, here on the blog, there is a place for you to donate to download, and I totally appreciate when you do! We have sponsored Edrisa just just about a year now with your donations, as well as the art I sell in my Etsy Shop :)

I wanted to share with you guys some new stuff up in my shop, I'm on a little bit of a cultural kick, it amazes me the beauty in traditional cultural dress from around the world. So I've started a little collection called Tiny Human Peoples -my mom says the 'peoples' is redundant, because humans are people, and yup I get it... but it's more along the lines of Tiny Human People groups, peoples of the world, people groups- she's probably right... but I digress ;)

Here they are!! I've got Columbian, Scottish, Korean, Vietnamese, Ukrainian, and Inuit, and I am continually adding to the group. (so far I am celebrating the female Cultural Dress of a few different cultures, as I continue to grow them, I'm hoping to add the male dress from each group as well :)

So please, take a look, share them, buy them for friends and family- get them personalized, and share, share, share...

A dollar a download helps us keep Edrisa fed, but there are about 43 other children at the Baby home that we would also love to help. AND (it's not official yet- but I am starting to plan another campaign to go back to Uganda and spend some time working at the baby home and helping Fay with any graphic work, and work-work, she needs.... )

Thanks again for all of your love and support!

M.

Meet Edrisa!

Remember I had mentioned I was working on a little something something?... Well I was... and here goes... We (You + Me) are sponsoring a little Boy! The LostBumblebee Blog Community has been so generous with their support of our Living Life On Purpose 2015 goal, I wanted to give you the opportunity to continue living your life on purpose.

This Blog was originally created as a place of healing for me, and that is exactly what it has been. You know our struggles with fertility, you know my heart, you know me, you know our goal this entire year has been to live our lives on purpose. Live outside of ourselves, beyond our borders, to give, to love, to heal... And you are part of that journey. And now I want to introduce you to a little someone...

His name is Edrisa.
He was born in May 2013.
His mom left to get doughnuts and never came back.
He was severely anemic when found.
He was almost dead.
He was rescued.
He needed blood.
He healed.
He is hilarious.
He is a ham.
He is kind.
He has a sister.
He is no longer alone.
We are his new family.
We will support him.
We are living our lives on purpose.

From now on, all of our $1 Donate to download will be going toward supporting him, and eventually I would like to be able to support more than just Edrisa. I want our Blog Community to be about giving, Living Life on Purpose and living it out loud. Sharing our love with those around us, and giving beyond ourselves. Together we will make a difference. Can we change the world? maybe not, but we can change Edrisa's world.

I met Edrisa early in October, he would stand at my feet and swirl in my skirt. Finally one day he just held his arms up and basically said, 'lady you need to pick me up'. And every since that first day of picking him up, every time I was at the Baby Home, Edrisa was in my arms, he would search me out, find me, arms up, 'UP!'. He healed a place in my heart that was hurt and not open, he made a bigger difference in my life, than I ever could in his.

I've left a huge part of my heart in Uganda. Being home has been hard, not because I am unhappy, but because I miss my new Ugandan family. Because the needs I saw there are so vast and hard to even comprehend- let alone share with others...  All I can do is pray, share love, try and share my story, and live my life on purpose...

Join me in living life on purpose and changing one little boy's world.
Share the love,
M.
