So this Abraham Lincoln...

So this Abraham Lincoln dude was one smart fellow! He made this statement one time "Things may come to those who wait. But only the things left behind by those who hustle."

As you know I am a one foot in front of the other kinda gal. I think hard work pays off, I think creativity is consistency, not unicorn farts and do-dads like that  (you can read more about this here: Creativity). I believe that overnight successes take years of hard work in the making (most over night successes will tell you that it was the longest night of their life- a 12year , a 5year, a 7year, a 10year night! :)

So last night I was thinking about this a lot... and I wrote this quote down -good things come to those who hustle, then in my mother's voice I hear- 'hustle your bustle'... I laughed out loud and wrote it down. That is why today's post includes 'hustle, your bustle'.

Thank You, and You, and YOU!

Thanksgiving is over,  Christmas festivities are in full swing- but let's not lose the spirit of gratitude.

Happy Friday! In the USA it is Black Friday- the largest shopping day of the year, and I guess the day that kicks off the Christmas season (?)

Every once in awhile a company will have Black Friday sales up here in Canada- but for the main part, it is just plain Friday- and I'm ok with that!

Simply.

The Holidays are coming on with a vengeance and I love it!
But there is something I will keep in mind this year: simplicity.

Simply being, simply living, simply loving. Excess is not necessary. I will try to avoid being caught up in the craziness of buying things. (things I don't need, things my friends and family do not need.)

I will try to instead be caught up in spending time with people.
Talking, loving, connecting.

This will be my simple reminder.

This is my Christmas wish for all of you, that you will connect with family and friends.

A Special Reminder for Everyone, Especially You.

In this wonderful world that we live in, where anything is possible, and hopes and dreams do come true. There is an underlying current of self hatred. Our young people are not loving themselves, I'm not talking in an arrogant way, I'm talking about loving and understanding that; 

no matter who we are,
no matter what we look like,
no matter our age,
no matter our talents or abilities,
we are of VALUE.

YOU HAVE VALUE. 

This is my hope and prayer for all -but especially for our young people;

know that you are valuable, just because you are you.

In case you don't know, I live in the beautiful Province of Québec in Canada. I am surrounded my French speaking neighbours, servers, bank tellers, cashiers, pizza delivery men and everyone else you can think of. I am so blessed that my community has accepted me as their "anglo in residence". (I  believe I make up the entire 3% of my community that is English :) 

So I wanted to honour them by having my calendar translated. ( My very good francophone friend - (Merci Jo!) translated it for me- because I would have butchered it, had I tried it myself- no word of a  lie ;)

I used verses from both La Bible Sainte: Louis Segond, as well as, La Bible du Semeur. You can find both of these versions on >>Bible Gateway Here <<

Sometimes I feel like I need to Explain...

Sometimes I feel like I need to explain, what some may call, an obsession with coffee. (I would call them crazy).  I mean, everyone is allowed to have their own opinion, right? ;)
But seriously, it really isn't my fault, coffee loves me and it's always jumping into my cup. There is nothing I can do about it!

I'm getting all wrapped up in this beautiful holiday season- I can't believe the snow will be flying here any day now...
